Term of Reference (TOR) for photographing training

Background information

Cheshire Ethiopia is an independent non-profit making organization who provides orthopedic and social rehabilitation services for children and young people with disabilities in Ethiopia. The charity was established in 1962 by the grand Childrenof the late Emperor Haile Selassie and with technical support of Captain Leonard Cheshire.CE is a local independent NGO, staffed by Ethiopians and registered as an Ethiopian Resident Charity, while playing a leading role in physical rehabilitation of person with disability mainly childrenin Ethiopia.

Cheshire in its disability intervention contributes to mobility, functionality and participation and social inclusion of children and youth with disabilities.

In meeting its program objective as well as the vision, the organization is planning to conduct a capacity building training on photographing to rehabilitation staff working with children with disabilities and their parents /guardians in different partners that operate disability

Objective of the training

• Equip the rehabilitation staff with knowledge and skill of photographing (know properly part of camera, parts and function of camera, lense and film image sensor, operating the camera, types of shot and function, principles of composition and framing, the nature of light equipment and accessories, different photographing using light, background selection, subject focus, ethics in photographing, capaturing of quality pictures).
• Trainees produce quality pictures of children with disabilities for case history, performance report, events, other documentation and fund raising.
• Trainees share knowledge and skills of photographing to other staff members

• Approved training program and content materials
• Pre and post assessment for trainees
• Deliver interactive and practical training
• Share training material and final training report to Cheshire

Duration of the work

• The assignment is estimated to be undertaken in the mid of March and it is a three day training

Qualification of the consultant

• Diploma/BA in photographing and other related subject.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in photographing for different program activities and events.
• Experience in providing training on photographing with theory and practice and active involvement of trainees
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• High level written and oral communications skills in English and local language
• Result-oriented, a team player, exhibiting high levels of enthusiasm, tact, diplomacy, and integrity
• Excellent interpersonal and professional skills in interacting with people
