Job Description

BGI Ethiopia is Hiring Plant Supply Chain Manager to one of BGI's Sites/Subsidiaries

Job Summary

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end supply chain processes to ensure the efficient and timely flow of products from raw material sourcing to customer delivery. The primary goal will be to optimize the supply chain performance, minimize costs, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. The supply chain manager will operationally report to Plant Director while maintaining a dotted line connection with the corporate heads.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the focal supply chain person in the factories, ensuring smooth operations and coordination of all supply chain activities.

  • Take responsibility for warehousing, logistics operations, and fleet management, ensuring efficient and effective utilization of resources.

  • Oversee and manage the entire physical flow of goods within the supply chain, from raw materials to finished products, ensuring timely delivery to customers.

  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve supply chain performance, including order fulfillment, delivery accuracy, and inventory management.

  • Continuously analyze and optimize logistics operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-effective solutions to enhance efficiency.

  • Monitor and manage fleet utilization, including vehicle maintenance, fuel management, and driver safety, to ensure cost-effective and reliable deliveries.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, quality assurance, and sales, to optimize supply chain processes and meet customer demands.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing supply chain team, providing training, coaching, and guidance to enhance their skills and capabilities.

Job Requirements

  • Supply Chain Management: In-depth knowledge and expertise in managing end-to-end supply chain operations, including demand planning, procurement, inventory management, transportation, and distribution. Experience in utilizing supply chain management software and tools is also crucial.

  • Brewery Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the brewing industry, including knowledge of brewery operations.

  • Production Planning and Scheduling: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective production plans and schedules, ensuring optimization of resources, minimal downtime, and meeting production targets.

  • Inventory Control: Experience in managing inventory levels effectively, including forecasting demand, setting safety stock levels, implementing inventory control measures, and utilizing inventory management systems.

  • Quality Assurance: Knowledge and experience in implementing quality control measures throughout the supply chain, including ensuring raw materials meet required quality standards and monitoring quality throughout the production process.

  • Team Leadership: Ability to lead and manage a team of supply chain professionals, providing guidance, training, and support. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and coordination across different departments

  • Cost Management: Experience in driving cost efficiencies within the supply chain, such as optimizing transportation routes, reducing wastage, and negotiating favorable pricing with suppliers.

  • Continuous Improvement: Mindset and experience in constantly seeking process improvements within the supply chain, identifying areas for cost reduction, enhancing operational efficiency, and implementing best practices.

  • Adaptability and Resilience: Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing business conditions. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
