Job Description

Job Summary

Senior Category Officer Business Services lead the efficient and effective sourcing Machinery spare parts, Utilities, civil works, vehicle spare parts, industrial gas, fabrication consumables, oil, fuel and lubricants -with the right quality, right quantity, delivered at the right time with optimal cost. He/she is responsible to Support Operational Requirements as per the company policy, procedure and code of conduct. Furthermore, the Senior category officer manages and administrates all contracts for purchasing; ensure effective and efficient contract compliance for all purchases with optimal cost for the company; administer, review and control the expiry and the renewal of contracts. Participates in coaching subordinates as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

  • Assist the category manager in the Planning, organizing and monitoring the services/material procurement of the category.

  • Develops category plan that beholds all actions on a monthly/Quarterly basis

  • Analyses cost breakdown and negotiate with vendors to secure advantageous terms and produce proposal to get approval from Management

  • Conclude annual contracts for the category materials and services and secure Management approval.

  • Execute bids, Create PO and submit for Management approval.

  • Perform supplier performance and assessment evaluation periodically.

  • Participate in value engineering projects (value creation and cost reduction)

  • Collect market dynamics and stay up-to-date with trends and risks of the market

  • Initiate purchase consolidation projects including tender and coordinate with users and service providers to keep minimum number of suppliers and optimum stock holding.

Job Requirements

  • Business ethics

  • knowledge of the consumer goods industry.

  • Solid understanding of procurement and logistics

  • Good understating of procurement follows up applications systems such as SAP, AX Dynamics etc.

  • Analytical, problem solving and organizational abilities.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

    • Batchelors degree in Procurement and Logistics, Supply chain, Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing Management or related Business fields
    • A minimum of 5 years experience in a related function.
