The production Manager plan and organize production schedules and ensure all aspects of the production process are running smoothly, that staff are being productive, budgets are being met and the workplace is safe.
Leadership Accountability
- Setting clear goals and expectations for production staff. This includes communicating the production schedule, quality standards, and any other relevant information.
- Delegating tasks and empowering staff. Production managers should trust their staff to do their jobs well, and give them the authority they need to make decisions and solve problems.
- Providing coaching and support. Production managers should be available to answer questions, provide guidance, and help staff to develop their skills.
- Monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed. Production managers should regularly monitor the production line to ensure that it is running on schedule and that quality standards are being met. They should also be prepared to make adjustments to the production schedule or processes as needed.
- Reporting on progress and results. Production managers should keep senior management informed of the progress of the production line and any challenges that are being faced. They should also report on the results of the production line, such as output levels and quality metrics.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Commit to Occupational Health and Safety standards. Frequently state and articulate that Safety is our No.1 priority. Adhere strictly to the site safety rules and systems and equipment operational procedures.
- Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility
- Identify and confirm resource availability such as raw materials, packing materials, equipment availability and capacity, production capacity, manpower requirement and availability, stock level, storage capacity, transport capacity etc.
- Ensure all stock items are appropriately identified in ERP.
- Manage teams individual, performance and reward and training & development within clear improvement plans.
- Develop and implement new production processes.This includes working with Engineering managers and quality to develop new ways to produce beverages more efficiently and effectively.
- Co-ordinate with maintenance manager/supervisor to understand materials, consumables and manpower requirement and availability for maintenance activities, for uninterrupted production.
- Manage and lead production teams.This includes hiring,training,and coaching supervisors and operators,as well as delegating tasks and providing feedback.
- set polices, plans and procedures, and take initiative to implement the identified improvement opportunities to control cost and to achieve better yield and quality.
- Review production schedule and process, consult /discuss with supervisor, team and cross function teams identify opportunities for improvement and develop recommendations for improvement on production process.
- Work with Engineering, Quality and product developer managers to develop a product roadmap that prioritizes new product development and process improvement initiatives.
- Set clear goals and expectations for production teams, and provide regular feedback and support.This will help to ensure that supervisors and operators are performing at their best and that team goals are being met.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement cross-functional initiatives.This will help to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the company as a whole.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in the beverage industry.This will help the production team to develop and implement new technologies and processes that can help the company to stay competitive.
- Collaborate with other departments.This includes working with departments such as Engineering,quality assurance,General service and ware house to ensure that the production team is aligned with the company's overall goals.
- Lead and oversee the implementation of Integrated Management System (IMS) of the company (ISO 45001, ISO 22000, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001).
- Responsible to lead and supervise the implementation and effectiveness of Food Safety Management System (FSMS) ISO 22000 in the company.
