Summary
The Ethiopian Psychologists' Association (EPA) is implementing a project to support the professional capacity and well-being of SGBV service providers in Ethiopia. To complement existing resources, EPA seeks Psychological Services and Capacity Building Consultant who will provide specialized expertise, technical guidance, and consultancy services for the successful completion of the project.

Professional Capacity Strengthening/Empowerment of GBV Service Providers
Project Overview
The project aims to provide psychosocial support and mental health services for gender-based violence (GBV) service providers in Ethiopia. The ongoing conflict in various parts of the Northern Region of Ethiopia has led to an increase in the number of GBV survivors in the country, resulting in a greater demand for GBV services. However, service providers are facing various challenges, including burnout, stress, and exposure to severe forms of mental health problems, due to the nature of the GBV experienced and the overwhelming needs of the survivors.
The project recognizes the essential role of GBV service providers in responding to and preventing GBV in humanitarian settings. To improve the quality of services and protect the well-being of service providers, the project will focus on strengthening their capacity through training, providing necessary resources, and offering ongoing support.
Psychosocial Support and Mental Health Services: Providing psychosocial support and mental health services specifically designed for GBV service providers. This includes addressing burnout, stress, and other mental health challenges they may experience, as well as promoting self-care and building resilience.
By focusing on the well-being of GBV service providers, the project aims to enhance the quality of services provided to survivors and minimize further harm to both the beneficiaries and the service providers themselves. Through professional capacity strengthening and psychosocial support, the project seeks to improve the effectiveness of GBV response and prevention efforts in Ethiopia.
Purpose of the assignment
The purpose of this assignment is to provide technical expertise and support in the implementation of the project "Professional Capacity Strengthening/Empowerment of GBV Service Providers." The Psychological Services and Capacity Building Consultant will play a crucial role in designing and delivering psychosocial support and mental health services tailored for GBV service providers in Ethiopia. The consultant will contribute to enhancing the well-being and professional capacity of GBV service providers, thereby improving the quality of services provided to GBV survivors.
