Director, Payment Applications Department

Premier Switch Solutions S.C.(PSS) is a leading Electronic Payment Processing Company, established by major private banks of Ethiopia. The Company has implemented the first multi-institution shared-switch infrastructure to provide its member banks with a state of the art payment technology to drive ATM, POS, e-commerce, Mobile Banking and other payment channels and provide clearing of Debit/Credit card transactions for the banks.

Description of Duties

• Formulate and implement the strategic direction of the payment application and database administration.
• Develop policies and procedures for the payment application, data management administration and lead in their implementation through the continuous review.
• Oversee the design, setup, installation and integration of various systems, applications, or process designs for payment application or any outsourced technology and business process solutions to meet the business requirements and are compliant with PCI DSS and other relevant security standards.
• Ensure high system availability and best performance to meet the customer expectation.
• Manage vendor relationship and monitor all payment application support activities.
• Ensure the successful delivery of payment application and other projects.
• Ensure periodic payment system performance metrics are conducted.
• Design system capacity planning and build business continuity.
• Lead maintenance, upgrade and migration of systems.
• Work with the relevant departments in the development of new products and services.
• Research new payment/database technologies and work with the relevant work units.
• Prepare budget for the department
• Support the Chief Information Officer in the implementation of the corporate strategy.
• Provide training, coaching and mentoring of employees within the department towards effective career development.
• Manage incidents timely.
• Prepare periodic reports

• Bachelors Degree in ICT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• At least 8 years experience, 3 of which should have been in managerial role
• E-banking, e-payment or core banking experience in the Financial Sector.
• Extensive experience in Database administration
• Exposure in PCI DSS is preferable
• Relevant professional certification is advantageous
