Plant, Equipment and Maintenance Manager

LonAdd HR Consultancy Plc (www.lonadd.com) is a Recruitment & Outsourcing Company based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with branch offices in Dukem and Hawassa. We are looking to recruit a qualified-on Plant, Equipment and Maintenance Manager behalf of our client.

1. Purpose of the position and Justification

• Under the general supervision of the plant and Operation Manager, the Plant equipment and Maintenance unit Manager is responsible for technology selection, service ability/availability of plant and equipment, maintenance of mechanical and electrical parts of company properties so as to optimize plants capacity to produce planned products with higher quality.
• Plans, directs, controls, and coordinates the repair and maintenance of plant, equipment, and vehicles, inspect work in progress and upon completion.
• Schedules work assignments: determine priorities, review equipment facilities to determine proper utilization of resources and efficiency of production.
• Determines Vehicle, plants, and equipment /machines availability/ serviceability to determine production schedule (production calendar)
• Conducts daily, weekly, monthly checks on machines and changes parts as required.
• Conducts scheduled preventive maintenance work following working manuals of each machine and equipment.
• Implements the companys equipment maintenance management system and submit recommendations for changes or improvements.
• Directs the care and preventive maintenance and repair of equipment and all property in the company.
• Rehabilitates, modifies or design components; recommend the disposal of aged and beyond economic repair, seriously damaged and badly malfunctioning equipment.
• Initiates the development of performance standards and quality control techniques.
• Prepares and arranges on-thejob training courses in the repair and maintenance of equipment.
• Directs the investigation of the causes and costs of accidents within company involving machinery and equipment.
• Ensures adequate stocks of parts and materials are stored or ordered in a timely manner for production, component reconditioning, unit overhauls, repairs, and servicing.
• Develops and implements a standard charging system for major reconditioning and servicing tasks.
• Submit weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual reports on maintenance activities and performance of the central garage.
• Evaluates performance of subordinate in relation to previously prepared maintenance plan.
• Ensuring that all day-to-day operation of key personnel accommodates all key operational performance requirements.
• Follow-up and ensures that the health and safety of employees is maintained.
• Ensures the implementation of company rules and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Plant Operation Manager/batching plant Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

• BSc Degree Mechanical Engineering, General Mechanical Engineering and related
• Above 12 years experience, and 5 years related with the position.
