Senior Agronomist

Currently, we operate with proficient technical teams across various regions, facilitating demonstration sites and providing essential support to local farmers.

To further enhance our position and contribution to Ethiopia's agricultural sector, we seek to hire a Senior Agronomist with strong project management skills and the ability to oversee departmental activities and supplier relations.

Background of the Job:

This role requires creativity, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork to enhance the company's visibility and impact. The Senior Agronomist will strategize to expand our reach in hybrid vegetable seeds and agrochemicals, fostering awareness among farmers to ensure food security and improve livelihoods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively promote and market our products.
• Maintain regular communication and coordination with suppliers on ongoing projects.
• Identify and engage potential customers while cultivating and sustaining client relationships.
• Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance productivity.
• Introduce innovative techniques to improve agricultural outcomes.
• Develop work plans and ensure timely project implementation.
• Organize, promote, and manage outreach events for farmers.
• Support capacity building of technical staff in regional areas.
• Compile and deliver reports promptly to relevant stakeholders.
• Perform other related tasks as required.

Open Position: One

Duty Station: Addis Ababa, with frequent travel to regional areas

Salary: Negotiable

Qualifications:

• MSC or BA degree in plant science/horticulture.
• 3+ years of experience for MSC or 5+ years for BA in vegetable production.
• Willingness to travel frequently to rural areas.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in IT technologies (e.g., MS Office).
• Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
• Additional fluency in local languages is advantageous.
