Job Description

Mahibere Hiwot for Social Development (MSD) is a non-governmental and non-profit making organization founded in October 1999. Since its establishment, MSD has been implementing different programs in collaboration with partners on providing broad range of HIV prevention, care and treatment services and Sexual and Reproductive health (SRH), Migration & Trafficking, Good Governance, Education and Child Development in different parts of the country.

Project Summary
The project entitled Multi-year Protracted Crisis Ethiopia Joint Responses (2024-2026) is an integrated project that consists of WASH, Protection, FSL, Health and MPC sectors financed by the Dutch relief alliance. The objective of this project is to provide complimentary multi-sectoral and integrated lifesaving humanitarian support to conflict and/or drought affected people in need - both displaced and non-displaced, in the target locations, prioritizing the most vulnerable population, and facilitate early recovery and resilience of communities, while ensuring that that gender, protection, accountability to affected populations (AAP), and prevention from sexual exploitation abuse and harassment (PSEAH) are well integrated across the different service.

JOB SUMMARY
MEAl officer is a position in the organization with the overall responsibility of tracking and updating M&E data as well as ensuring the data is of the best quality possible and continuously engage in supervising performance of the project against the plan by providing technical assistance and jointly plan and monitor project site visits with the relevant stakeholders.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitoring project activities, outputs and progress towards anticipated results
  • Working with data platforms, databases and select technologies to capture and organize data
  • Facilitating the input of project staff, partners and other stakeholders in project design and measurement activities.
  • Participating in and providing support to project design activities including development of project theories of change and strategic frameworks (Results Frameworks, Log Frames)
  • Developing a Monitoring and Evaluation plan
  • Helping determine performance and impact indicators and targets
  • Engage in data cleaning, sorting, categorizing and organizing data quality assessments .Analysis and Reporting
  • Determining data analysis procedures and use of quantitative or qualitative analysis tools
  • Developing monthly, quarterly or annual reports depending on project requirements
  • Provide support to knowledge management processes within the organizations and Contributing to institutional learning processes

Job Requirements

Key qualification and Experience
  • Masters degree/Bachelor degree in social science, economics, or relevant fields; post graduate level qualification in social science is preferred

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • 3-5 /5-7 years of monitoring and evaluation experience in both development and humanitarian contexts with NGOs.
  • Experience with research methods and data management and analysis in both development and humanitarian programming
  • Experience in evaluation design and management response projects
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent internal consultation and liaison skills; facilitation and coaching skills
  • Excellent analytical and creative abilities with strong results orientation
  • Fluency in English and local language.
