Job Description

  • Responsible for legal compliance and risk management within the group ; lead and manage the legal function; to provide expert and timely legal advice to the business.
  • Provides expert legal services to the company in connection with all areas of commercial activity including sales, marketing and procurement
  • Provides expert legal support to all functions within the Company.
  • Leading the execution of local corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures
  • Provides strategic advice in respect of policies and guidelines to manage legal risk (such as standard form commercial contracts, process improvements etc
  • Scan new legislation and other legal developments and is proactive in the dissemination of relevant legal information to those who may benefit from such information, including by way of training and seminars for business colleagues and periodic legal audits
  • Represent the company in litigation, arbitration, mediation, expert determination, etc.
  • Make sure all terms and conditions of contractual agreements are in line with local laws, regulations and Company policy and procedure
  • Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large range of tasks debriefing and securing alignment with relevant functions on time.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor Degrees in Law
  • Minimum of 8 years related work experience from which minimum of 2 years experience in management position.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and influencing skills.
  • Real attention to detail and the ability to develop solutions for complex multi-dimensional business issues, often under time and cost pressure
  • A desire to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the business, and to develop a profound understanding of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Excellent written and spoken Amharic and English.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
