Job Description

Who we are

SOS Childrens Villages Ethiopia is an International Non-governmental organization and a member of SOS Childrens Villages International Federation. We started our humanitarian work in Ethiopia with the opening of our first Village in Mekelle, Northern part of Ethiopia in 1974. Since then, we have expanded our programs to different regions where there are significant needs for intervention and where we believe we can work in partnership with all relevant actors to bring sustainable positive outcomes for childrens and young people.

Today, we have grown significantly to meet the persistent challenges that confront Ethiopian children who have lost parental care and those that are at risk of losing their parental care. Working in close collaboration with international donors, local government and community based organizations across seven program locations; we aspire that every child grows up with love, respect and security.

Why we need you?

We are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Volunteer Digital Fundraiser. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our fundraising efforts through both face-to-face and digital channels. You will also play a key role in developing and designing content to engage our supporters and drive sponsorship and donations. Additionally, your sales knowledge and event organization skills will be utilized to plan and execute successful fundraising events and campaigns.

Your role?

While working with us a Volunteer Digital Fundraiser you will be in charge of the following,

Face-to-Face Fundraising

  • Communicate directly with private citizens and organizations to sign them up with an emphasis on recruiting them as long-term sponsors
  • Utilize sales knowledge to identify and pursue fundraising opportunities
  • Cooperate with team members to set up fundraising tables and marketing materials at canvassing locations
  • Attend different exhibitions representing the organization

Digital Fundraising

  • Create compelling and persuasive content for various channels, including social media, website, and promotional materials
  • Design visually appealing and engaging materials, such as graphics and videos to support fundraising initiatives

Event Planning and Organizing

  • Assist in planning and organizing fundraising events
  • Identify and lobby local businesses, organizations and individuals who can help us with the fundraising events

Safeguarding

  • Responsible for taking part in awareness-raising sessions and capacity-building training in relation to Child Safeguarding and Prevention of Sexual Misconduct Regulation to prevent and protect children, young people, programme participants and co-workers from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence, discrimination and harassment;
  • Responsible for reporting any Child and Youth Safeguarding /Sexual Harassment Exploitation and Abuse and Asseset protection , allegation or incident immediately, following the reports should be made to the designated team;
  • Responsible for showing their behavior and all relationships are based on the Sexual Misconduct Regulation, Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy and regulation, Code of Conduct, Anti Fraud and Anti Corruption Regulation and Good Management and Accountability Quality Standards
  • Conduct themselves per the Code of Conduct, Safeguarding and Local/Country Policies and Procedures;
  • Be vigilant about any possible form of abuse/harm, neglect, harassment, or exploitation against, children, youth and adults in personal and professional lives;

Must Criteria

  • Education: Level VI certificate or above in Marketing Management, Management, Public Relations, Communications and another related field of study
  • Excipriance: Previous fundraising, marketing (telemarketing) or sales experience (preferred)

  • Experience in sales or marketing, with a proven track record of achieving targets

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about the NGO Sector in Ethiopia
  • Willingness to learn and understand the programs and work of the SOS-CV, campaigns.
