Positive action for Development (PAD)is an indigenous, non-governmental, humanitarian and development organization and legally registered at Federal level by Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Charities and Societies agency on June 6/2011 with a registration number 2330. PAD would like to hire qualified professional for PACT funded project entitled USAID sustainable Peace Activity for the following position.
Main Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the program manager and in coordination with the area, Health and nutrition program coordinators, the project Manager has primary responsibility for ensuring that the project activities are implemented in accordance with the project design, allocated Budget, sphere and cluster standards and using existing or developed systems to monitor performance. These activities
Specific responsibilities include the following
- Support the implementation of the project activities and follow up, in coordination with the cluster and other relevant stakeholders.
- Manage project grant in line with the Donor rule and guidelines and follow up timely utilization, in coordination with the program and finance team.
- Develop project reports.
- Conduct post-distribution monitoring (PDM) exercises, analyze the results and draft PDM reports.
- Monitor the day-to-day implementation of project activities including undertaking regular field visits to check compliance with the work plan, and project documents.
- Prepare progress and other required reports. Identify and document significant project events, decisions, problems or deviations and ensure that project data and information is archived and shared appropriately.
- In close collaboration with the field team, coordinate the release and delivery of required materials and items to the respective sites in a timely manner, check the quality of delivered material and provide relevant documentation and pipeline projections for planning purposes.
- Liaise with counterparts and implementing partners, draft progress and other required reports, and ensure that project data and information is archived and shared appropriately.
- Regularly visit project implementation sites, to gain a thorough understanding of how activities are being carried out and to give guidance to the team on areas for improvement.
- Prepare quality reports which have to be submitted to the government and donors based on their reporting timeliness.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly reports and submit to project managers on the work progress.
- Ensure Sphere standards both qualitative and quantitative are considered and any departures documented.
- Enforce proper project information documentation using activities monitoring, lessons learned, and modifications done from lessons learned and communities feedback on project successes.
- Ensure all authorities and communities are kept well informed of the Program success and challenges as appropriate.
- Assist with any other duties as required by the supervisors and stand by for any call for assistance in any place across the country where a demand is needed.
- Familiarize yourself, understand and implement, according to area of responsibility, PADs policies and procedures on mainstreaming of Gender, HIV/AIDS and Child Protection.
- Familiarize yourself and understand PAD Donor Compliance issues, specifically to the terms and conditions of the Donor the Program is working on and comply with in the area of responsibility.
- While conducting training, make sure the training report and the signed attendees list is formally addressed to the program team for a central donor file.
- Carry out any assignment given to him/her by the supervisor.
Qualification:MSc/MA/BSc/BA in Health science, Public Health, Agricultural economics, DVM, and other related fields of studies.
Experience:A minimum of five years experience in coordinating and managing projects and out of which four years in Health, Livelihood and food security projects
Skills Required, Attitudes and Attributes:
- Strong experience on Health, food security and livelihoods projects management.
- Training certification in attending Health, food security and livelihoods sectors.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
- Extremely flexible, and can cope with stressful situations and frustration
- Creativity and the ability to work with limited resources.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Understanding of the local culture & language is a plus value.
- Proven Experience working on emergency programs or related interventions for conflict and disaster induced areas.
- Good Communication Skill in both English and local language.
- Proven capacity to work in a harsh environment with capacity to respond timely and effectively as needed.
- Proven Capacity and sound connection and network to mobilize technical people in the field and lead effective rapid response activity.
