About ANGLA Business PLC
ANGLA Business PLC is engaged in diversified business such as fast foods, food processing, and import and export. Currently it has six Branches and six food trucks in Addis Ababa. It has also a plan to expand the business outside Addis Ababa. Concerning the food processing, it is in the process to import the required processing plants. Further, it is engaged in import and export business in which the former is focusing on the import of the required inputs for the fast food as well as food processing industries.

General Manager Job Summary
The General Manager ensures the overall success and management of the Company, its staffs, and services. The ideal candidate shall have excellent organizational and leadership skills, as well as an extensive knowledge of the hospitality and food processing industry. The General Manager also ensures the Company meets its financial targets and provides the highest level of customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities

Overall

  • Oversee the entire operation and commercial interests of the Company.
  • Prepare strategic plan.
  • Draw Marketing & Sales Strategy.
  • Draw annual operation and capital plan and budget of the Company.
  • Ensure the overall financial management of the entire business operations. This will include the preparation of budgets, key performance indicators, financial reporting and capital expenditure to ensure effective cost control and profitability.
  • Drive the revenue management of the business, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly revenue meetings are taking place. Have full control over all revenue management decision including group, corporate and inbound rates.
  • Achieve continued revenue growth through innovation in services, product offerings and sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure that sales team members are adhering to the sales and marketing strategy.
  • Ensure the existence of effective leadership, management, training, motivation and development of managerial and non-managerial staffs.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements and companys policies & procedures.
  • Ensure the teams adhere to the Companys policy relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety.
  • Ensure customer concerns are resolved and addressed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete a thorough yearly competitor analysis to ascertain our position in the market place.
  • Ensure procurement of operational and capital items is made as per the approved budget and in line with the procurement procedure.
  • Ensure the warehouse management is operating in line with the warehouse management procedure.
  • Ensure that monthly performance report are prepared and presented on time for the review and approval of the Advisory Board Team and Board of Directors, respectively.
  • Monitor and manage expenses to ensure cost efficiency
  • Monitor industry trends and implement best practices
  • Manage budgets/expenses, analyze and interpret financial information and monitor sales and profits
Food & Beverage
  • Ensure consistent high standards of food preparation, presentation and quality are maintained in the F&B outlet.
  • Ensure the quality of the food and service offering is commensurate with the agreed standard.
  • Ensure monthly inspections of all F & B are conducted to ensure consistency.
  • Ensure food safety systems are robust through compliance with standards.
  • Ensure that food and beverage staffs are holding pre and post briefings of each meal period to ensure that everyone is aware of all requirements and are kept updated on hotel promotions.
  • Ensure Food and Beverage Cost of Sales are properly monitored and sales targets are met or exceeded.
  • Ensure general and food requisitions are checked to ensure correct items are ordered and delivered.
  • Develop and maintain outlet policy and procedure manuals.
  • Develop the food and beverage offerings.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • At least Degree in Business Administration, Hotel/Hospitality Management or
  • relevant field.

Work Experience & Skill:

  • At least 10 to 15 years of proven experience in the hospitality industry, with significant luxury and international experience of which 5 to 10 years of experience as a General Manager or Asst. General Manager.
  • Good understanding of fast food and related businesses best practices; relevant laws and guidelines
  • Excellent customer service skills as well as a business mindset
  • Reliable with an ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Outstanding leadership skills and a great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate with external parties such as suppliers, financers, event/conference planners, etc.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of hotel management software (PMS) is an advantage.
