Job Summary
The Light Vehicle Driver is responsible to provide driving services to authorized passengers and goods in a comfortable, safe and timely manner. He/she takes care of the passengers, the property in his/her custody and ensures that the vehicle is insured and properly maintained and reports accidents immediately to the supervisor. He/she also responsible for arranging regular cleaning and maintenance services for the vehicle, planning each route based on road and traffic conditions.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Provides transport service to company staffs and visitors as instructed by immediate supervisor;
- Delivers goods, and materials to different organizations or assigned places;
- Maps out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip;
- Picks up employees from any place when officially requested & approved;
- Assists in the distribution of letters and messages to and from the Office when assigned;
- Takes responsibility for the safety of the vehicle assigned, tools and accessories;
- Tries to listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up-to-date on road conditions and adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic as needed;
- Ensures that the vehicle is kept clean and ready for use at all times through maintaining car wash and detailing services;
- Checks oil, fuel, water and the proper functioning of tires, brakes and other electrical systems before starting driving the car;
- Follows up the regular service period and maintenance needs of the vehicle and by reporting to immediate supervisor;
- Drives the vehicle safely within the speed limits set by the company and in accordance with the government road transport traffic regulations;
- Makes sure to wear seat belt while driving and if any accident happen, report immediately to immediate supervisor;
- Ensures the validity and periodic renewal of his/her driving license;
- Maintains the daily vehicle log book by properly recording mileage and destinations trips;
- Notifies all spare parts including tires & tools to be changed on timely manner and handover used materials to concerned body;
- Performs other similar duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification & Work Experience
- 12/10th grade complete and 3rd Grade Driving License with 5 years and above direct work experience in construction, real estate or manufacturing sectors.
