Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Freight In Time Logistics PLC is a leading customs clearance and freight forwarding company based in Ethiopia. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Offer leadership to all team members on all shiftes and border offices with regards to import/export documentation, procedures and reporting.
  • Ensure all Import and Exports in and out of Ethiopia are processed as per the laid down government regulations and according to Ethiopian Customs Commission laws.
  • Deal with third parties namely Airlines, Transporters, Customs and other work related government regulatory bodies with the aim to ensure all documents are well in place and payments as per regulation are done in a timely manner as specified in the SOP.
  • Monitoring and accurate reporting of daily activities of the department and ensure all inbound shipments are declared, duties and taxes paid, verified and released from customs area with SOP specified time.
  • Maintain a healthy working relationship with all stakeholders and organize meetings to address matters affecting imports/exports operations.
  • Ensure all jobs are opened on SCM Profit (in-house system) updated, accurately billed and forwarded to finance department for invoicing within 48hrs from clearance and attend to the weekly meetings with regards to billing and open jobs.
  • Coordinate with operation team to ensure all shipment are securely stored, delivered and POD issued.
  • Ensure staff are well trained on security matters and other obligatory training requirements.
  • Meet frequently with the teams to arrange and plan daily activities.
  • Maintain high level of integrity and discipline while handling documentation and shipment forwarding procedures.

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • BA degree in social or related fields,
  • 2-3 years of experience in customs procedures and basic understanding of Customs and trade laws,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
  • Ability to represent the company and customer when handling goods and other queries,
  • Self starter,
  • Ability to work under pressure,
  • Flexibility on switching roles,
  • Proactive.
