Job Description

Job Summary:

The job involves developing and implementing strategies to promote job creation and economic development in the assigned region. This includes collaborating with local stakeholders, designing training programs for job seekers, conducting research on job market trends, and evaluating the effectiveness of project implementation. The role also includes producing regular reports, monitoring project progress, and supporting technical implementation under the guidance of the Project Manager. Additionally, the position may involve undertaking other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to promote job creation and economic development within the assigned region
Collaborate with local businesses, community leaders, and government agencies to identify and assess job market needs and opportunities
Design and deliver training programs and workshops to equip job seekers with the necessary skills and knowledge for successful employment
Conduct baseline surveys, research and analysis to identify trends and best practices in job creation, and use this knowledge to inform program development and improvement
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEED project implementation, and make recommendations for adjustments and enhancements as needed
Support the overall technical implementation of project activities, under the guidance of the Project manager
Produce a monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Conduct in-depth regular review and monitoring of the project, ensure all deliverables are as per the defined and agreed schedule
Undertake any other duties as may be requested by the project manager

Job Requirements

Qualification:

BA/BSc or MSc/MA Project Management, Vocational management, Development studies, Sociology or related TVET related fields.2.2.Required Experience
6 years for BA/Bsc and 4 years for Msc/MA
Proven experience in project management, preferably in the field of job creation or economic development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Skills & abilities:

Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to ensure quality standards are adhered to and understood
Strong management skills, with good understanding of relevant cross-cultural issues.
Ability to provide challenge and critique others in a constructive and open manner
Fluency in written and spoken English, Amharic and other local languages
Belief in teamwork and gender equality
Very good facilitation and coordination skills
Methodological, thorough approach with attention to detail
Excellent record keeping and report writing skills
Proficiency in MS Office packages
Ability to work in a multi partner environment
