Job Description
Purpose of the job
The role of sales and Distribution manager is to plan, lead, motivate, Equip and control his/her team to deliver he expected sales performance of assigned territory according to the commercial law of the country.
Key Responsibilities
Develop sales plans and Reports
Sales and Distribution managers oversee the sales team and develop an overall business plan, including sales strategies and profit goals. This includes performing territory demarcation, distributor selection, and resource allocation, forecasting demands and analyzing sales figures and preparing sales report analysis. The SDM is required to present the plan and reports through both individual meetings and larger sales gatherings.
Perform Sales visits:
Often requiring travel, the sales and distribution manager spends significant time to visit potential and current clients (with sales van and /or alone) in order to provide product information, to check service level of the team, to answer client questions /concerns, to observe competitors action, and to build brand awareness.
Secure sales Targets
One of the most important functions of any sales team member, including the sales and Distribution manager, is to secure sales target. As a Sales and Distribution Manager this is done both directly and through team members.
Build Relationships:
In order to perform sales duties, the sales and Distribution Manager must build and maintain key relationships with potential and current clients, in addition to stakeholder of the business. Using excellent interpersonal skills, the sales and distribution manager networks to form new relationships with potential clients and follows up with potential and current clients through phone, email and regular visits.
Manage sales team
The sales and Distribution manager leads a team of sales people which includes the sales supervisor, Sales Rep ,Sales Driver , Sales Assistant, and Sales Clerk. This entails many different tasks, including training sales employees ,developing them , coaching motivating and supporting the sales team ,holding regular conference calls ,reviewing team member expense reports monitoring fuel expenses and ensuring that employees are achieving their sales goals

Other Deliverables:Contribute in sales strategy and sales management activities of commercial department.
