Job Description

The role:
The Operations Director / Co-Country Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all operational aspects of the NGO's programs an initiatives. This position requires solid experience in management programs for developmental organizations, with a focus on project implementation, budgeting, stakeholder management, and partnership growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective day-to-day operations, assessing project results and impacts, and coordinating with various stakeholders, both governmental and international partners. Additionally, the Operations Director will be involved in organizational development, climate change initiatives, and systems and structures enhancement.

Responsibilities
Project Implementation Management
  • Lead and manage the implementation of projects from inception to completion.
  • Ensure that projects are executed in accordance with established timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with project teams to allocate resources effectively and monitor progress regularly.
Fundraising and Financial Management
  • Develop funding proposals and secure financial support from donors and investors.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial accountability.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and resource allocation to maximize
project impact.
  • Prepare annual scope of work for the organization alongside the CFO to be presented to ACSO and stakeholders.
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
  • Establish M&E frameworks to assess project results and impacts.
  • Monitor project performance against predetermined indicators and targets.
  • Use M&E data to inform decision-making, identify lessons learned, and improve
Project effectiveness.
Stakeholder Management:
  • Build and maintain relationships with governmental authorities, international organizations, donors, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with partners to leverage resources, share best practices, and enhance
Project outcomes.
  • Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and other forums to promote collaboration and partnership.
  • Act as the signatory for the organization and represent the organization in front of ACSO (FDRE Authority for Civil Society Organizations) to facilitate effective communication and decision-making infomindsolutions.net
Partnership Growth:
  • Identify potential partners and strategic alliances to expand the organization's reach and impact.
  • Negotiate partnership agreements and memorandum of understanding (MoUs) to formalize collaborations.
  • Foster a culture of partnership and collaboration both internally and externally.
Leadership and Team Management:
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Mentor and coach staff members to enhance their skills and capabilities.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Development, Business Administration).
  • Solid experience in management programs for developmental organizations, preferably in an NGO setting.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams effectively.
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in project coordination and implementation, including monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Knowledge of organizational development, climate change initiatives, and systems and structures enhancement is desirable.
  • Self-directed and proactive individual with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
