About F&S
Rural Financing is one of the core consultancy services offered by Fair and Sustainable Consulting. As a Rural Finance and Business Development consultant, your role combines financial expertise with strategic planning to elevate the quality of the services.
This position is a full-time position and reports to and works closely with other Consultants and the Management both locally and internationally.
Job Summary
The key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Carry out program and product development of proposals for inclusive finance/ rural finance, including mapping of the financial sector, compose technical assistance programs, and detailed suggestions for financial product development related to WASH, Agriculture, Climate resilience etc.
- Carry out Rural Finance consultancy and advisory works , in close collaboration with the team of F&S.
- Help F&S position itself strongly on the thematic area of Rural Financing and within the sector, and participate in knowledge generation and experience sharing trajectories.
- Engage in active networks and communication with potential clients / collaborators.
- Maintain active professional network with available MFIs and platforms.
- Conduct field research, stakeholders analysis, and content development in the Microfinance and.
- Support F&S clients/partners in the area of loan product, and coach SMEs (women and youth) potentially to link to F&S Programs
- Provide towards the development of capacity building plans for to F&S Programs, financial literacy programs and support to set up guarantee fund management,, institutional capacity building of MFIs, and related activities.
- Make presentations, engage in workshops, provide the necessary inputs while conducting an assignment.
- Documentation of relevant lessons, manage database, and proper archiving of reports.

Education
- Bachelors degree/ Masters degree, in Rural Development, Finance and Accounting, Business Administration, Financial management, or related field
Required work experience and Skills
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience with first degree and 5 years of relevant experience for Masters.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Rural finance, monitoring and reporting of Finance related Projects.
- Capable of producing high quality proposal development and reporting.
- Knowledge of and experience in local and international Microfinance protocols and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills, and demonstrated high quality of communication, negotiation and networking skills.
- Strong team player.
