The Financial Reporting and Analysis Officer will be responsible for keeping the budgeting figures and performing financial analysis. She/he keeps forecasts based on historical data and creates detailed reports that explain their financial recommendations to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager. In addition, She/he will be responsible for ensuring that the financial procedures and processes of the Company are applied.
Purpose of Role
- The chief purpose of the role is to provide visibility on expenditures to management and other departments to assist with future planning if needed.
- Ensure transactions are posted to the appropriate cost department.
- Follow up and monitor the accuracy and completeness of the weekly cash flow and suggest improvement.
- Analyze whether empty containers are purchased as per the procurement plan.
- Analyze and monitor the empty containers movement are being controlled as per the Companys policy and procedure.
- Reviewing and analyzing each of the account balances based on the action plan given.
- Cross-departmental communication is required to ensure awareness of expenditures
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts by the Company.
- Provide analysis of monthly management accounts with the appropriate template.
- Check the completeness and accuracy of monthly cost center reporting.
- Manage cost review processes on an ongoing basis and identify, and recommend cost efficiencies for consideration to minimize holding costs and opportunity costs. Work closely with all organizational departments on this process.
- Ascertain the completeness and accuracy of the weekly cash flow liaising with the responsible personnel.
- Prepare a weekly summary of actual payment requests vs the budget figures used for payment decisions.
- Prepare the Companys liquidity and quick ratio every month.
- Prepare the Companys profitability analysis as per the given format and direction every month.
- Prepare a product profitability analysis every month.
- Prepare the break-even quantity and amount every month.
- Follow and assess whether empty container purchases have been made according to the procurement plan and identify any process gaps in controlling the empty containers.
- Follow and report the total debt of the company and return on investment (ROI) every month.
- All tasks shall be delivered to her/his line manager within the reporting deadline with the appropriate format.
- Undertake any additional duties as may be given by the Financial Planning and Control Manager.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain the reasons for any differences between actual and budgeted results.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance indicators, such as profitability, liquidity, and solvency ratios.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and present them to management.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and communicate financial trends and potential risks to management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
