Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. The ideal candidate will combine excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyse financial reports and forecasts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.

• Monitor and analyse accounting data to produce accurate financial reports.

• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.

• Coordinate and complete annual audits.

• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.

• Meet financial accounting objectives.

• Collaborate with the finance team to support various projects and initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a senior accountant

• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.

• Experience with creating financial statements.

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.

• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.

• Proficiency in English and familiarity with accounting languages such as GAAP and IFRS.

• Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time efficiently.

• BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional certifications preferred.

• Accounting work experience related to GIZ, NGOs, startups or businesses

• Experience in e-commerce or tech startups.

• Strong writing and number-crunching skills in finance.

• Willingness to take on additional tasks related to finance and accounting.
