Job Description

A Fleet Opration Officer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily Operation of a companys Fleet of vehicles, such as Cars, Trucks, Vans or other types of transportation assets. Their primary role is to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the fleet while minimizing costs and Maximizing productivity. Here is a general Job description for a Fleet Operation Officer.

Job Summary:

The Fleet Operation Officer is Responsible for the management and coordination of all aspects related to the companys fleet of vehicles. The Includes overseeing vehicles Maintenance, Scheduling, Route Planning, driver management and ensuring compliance with relevant regulation and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement fleet management policies and procedures to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs to ensure the fleet is in optimal working condition.
  • Monitor and track vehicle usage, fuel consumption and other key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement.
  • Plan and optimize routes to minimize fuel usage and transportation costs.
  • Manage a team of drivers, including hiring, training, scheduling and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including, licensing , insurance and safety standards.

Working Conditions:

  • The fleet Operation Officer typically works in an officer setting but may need to visit vehicle depots or other locations as required.
  • May be required to work occasional evening, weekends, or holidays to address operational needs or emergencies.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in business, Logistics, transportation or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in fleet Management, Logistics or a related field.
  • Strong Organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and other relevant tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulation tools.
  • Problem- Solving Skills and ability to make quick decision under pressure.
