Job Description

Internal/External /Vacancy Announcement

Beza Posterity Development Organization (BPDO) is a local NGO operating in Amhara, Afar, Addis Ababa, Somali, Dire Dawa, Harari, Oromia, Benishagul Gumz, Gambella and Tigray regions with program thematic areas of health, nutrition, migration, shelter service for migrants, livelihood, green job creation, youth empowerment, child protection, climate change, peacebuilding, social accountability, and emergency response.

BPDO wants to recruit interested applicants who fulfill the minimum requirements as an employee.

Job Purpose:

BPDO is looking for professionally confident, self-motivated, experienced, and committed team player to fill the Cashier Position in Afar & Somali Region, Ethiopia. 2 Open Positions Reporting to Regional coordinator. The cashier will be assigned to the operations department and will be responsible for providing dependable and compliant assistance to USAID TB LON KAP in DRS Program activities to offer efficient service to program participants.

The cashier will oversee the bases safe and of all operations related to money and administration. The cashier shall obey and follow-up the BPDOs financial/administrative procedures.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that security procedures and policies are followed as directed by the countrys leadership.
  • Check payment requests and documents before payment has been effected.
  • Make payments for all items and services which have been approved by the Area coordinator.
  • Properly keep cash and conduct cash count.
  • Withdraw and effect payment for various trainings and workshops participants as and when needed and collect attendance confirmation documents and other supporting documents like transport receipts and.
  • Other duties appointed by the organization

Emergency responseBeza Posterity is committed to responding to emergencies efficiently and effectively to help affected people meet their basic needs, alleviate suffering and maintain their dignity. To this end, when emergencies strike and all Program is to respond, all staff are required to actively participate in the response, regardless of location and contribute to the efforts aimed at achieving the humanitarian objective of the organization.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of diploma and above in finance
  • Minimum of three years for BA and five years for Diploma with cashier experience, ideally with an NGO with a proven track record of success.
  • Ability to speak in both local language and English is required,
Competencies:
  • Monitoring Willing to work in a distant location and capable of working in a team.
  • Motivated and dedicated.
  • Flexible and ready to work under pressure outside of regular office hours and on weekends.
  • Cultural awareness and local language fluency is mandatory requirement
  • Emotional maturity is required.
  • Capability to collaborate successfully with a varied collection of individuals
  • Attendance and good time management skills.
  • Skills such as safety management, problem-solving, dealing with complexity, and data analysis
