Procurement and Logistics Officer

BACKGROUND:

Kurmuk Gold Mine Plc (KGM) is a subsidiary of Allied Gold Corp which is a global company. The parent company has different mine projects in Mali, cote dIvoire as well as Ethiopia. KGM is the owner of Ethiopian project with a Large-Scale Gold Mining License and three contiguous Exploration Licenses. All licenses are located in western Ethiopia approximately 750 km from Addis Ababa, or about 90 km north-west of Assosa town in Benishangul Gumuze Regional State.

KGM is using local and expat professionals, and foreign/local consultants to carry out all the exploration and mining activities. The company currently is looking for professionals in many disciplines to execute its operations diligently and to the international standard.

Overview:

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Procurement and Logistics Officer at Kurmuk Gold Mine PLC. In this role, he/she will be responsible for supporting the logistics and procurement functions of the organization, ensuring efficient sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of materials and equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for mine operations.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods to meet project timelines.
• Monitor inventory levels and track stock movements to optimize inventory management.
• Liaise with internal departments to understand procurement needs and requirements.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
• Assist in the development and implementation of procurement procedures.
• Support logistics planning and coordination for transportation, shipping, and distribution of goods.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics and procurement department.
• Updating and maintaining records of all orders, payments, and received stock.

Employment condition: Full-time (Permanent after probation period)

Education:

• Bachelors degree in business administration, Supplies Management, procurement and Logistics or related field with background of electrical or mechanical engineering.

Experience:

• 3+ years in international purchase & local purchases.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Previous experience in international & local procurement, logistics, or supply chain management is required.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
