Under direction of the Marketing Manager, the Category Manager has the overall responsibilities of to execute brand strategy for one or more key brands/categories through researching, developing, advertising, and promoting the brand in order to create a strong brand that increases profitability, builds customer loyalty, and increase market share for the company.

Brand development & follow up

Leading the strategic planning process for the assigned brands based on key consumer insights to enhance current portfolio and improve communication with consumers.

Participates in the development of the companys long-term planning that identifies new business opportunities, markets and partners.

Manages the overall creative process for a single product, or group of products and services.

Carrying out consumer research, monitor market trends, and identify potential areas in which to invest, based upon consumer needs and spending habits.

Coordinates regular meetings and preparing regular reports outlining the brands performance.

Delivering internal and external presentations regarding new product introductions, marketing materials, business objective and communication strategy.

Prepares periodic reports outlining the brands performance

Product/Brand Promotion

Manages and coordinates the production of TV commercials, newspaper and magazine advertisements, and direct mail packs, email campaigns, websites, and exhibition stand, road shows to ensure the right message is delivered for their product or service.

Coordinates the development of communication materials such as catalogues, websites, brochures, packaging and in-store displays

Organizes events, photo shoots, launching parties, brand related meetings

Participates in creative meetings, including photo and film shoots, trade show exhibitions.

Liaises and works closely with art designers, media buyers and printers, distribution partners, product developers to make sure the companys brand values and image are followed.

EHS Compliance

Conduct risk assessment on regular basis in order to ensure safe and healthy working environment to employees

support the EHS person and the staff association to ensure the working environment is conducive and free of any hazard.

Ensure the safety compliance

Responsible for all security matters related to the wellbeing of the employees, movement of vehicles, the organizations properties and activities in the premises of the operation

Comply to the EHS requirement of Wilmar in the day to day operation

Job Requirements

Tier Level Competency Requirement:

  • Tier 3 Phenomenal understanding of the position's roles and responsibilities. Creative, energetic and team player. Proven track record on brand, promotion, and customer development. Proven experience on product launches and campaigns. Success records on brand creation and development

Tier Level Specification:

Tier 1:

  • MBA/BA Degree in Marketing Management or social science field of study
  • Minimum 6 years for BA and 4 years of experience for MBA in related filed of which three years as Marketing Manager
