House keeping supervisor

Naflet hotel is a top-notch world-class hotel located in Adama. Naflet Hotel has opened its door and has been serving its guests since October 2022. Job summary:

The housekeeping supervisor oversees all the activities within the housekeeping and laundry operations. He/she plays major role in the establishment of effective and efficient housekeeping and laundry system.

Duties and responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth flow of the house keeping operations. 

• Ensure the proper allocation of work and efficient utilization of resources within his / her department. 

• Prepare duty roaster, plan annual leave, department training plan, prepare daily work assignments, and allocate rooms and work stations for each attendant. 

• Conduct daily pre-shift briefings. 

• Ensure the standard cleanliness, proper maintenance and restocking of each room. 

• Supervise the standard cleanliness of public areas. 

• Check for the proper functioning of equipment, furniture, and fixture in the room (room light, bathroom, bed, bedside light, reading light, etc.).

• Follow up and correctly report the room status to the front office manager, financial manager, and general manager. 

• Deliver the list of ready rooms to the front office team on timely basis. 

• Supervise the activities within the laundry. 

• Ensure the lost and found items are handled in accordance with the hotel policies and procedures. 

• Frequently follow-up the personal grooming and uniforms of employees under his / her supervision. 

• Ensure the availability of needed resources for the smooth flow of job within the housekeeping department. 

Salary: As per the hotel scale and attractive

Reporting to: Room Division Manager 

Required Qualification: 

• Diploma or above in hotel management, management, or related fields. 

• At least 3 years job experience as housekeeping supervisor or head in a three-star hotel

Specific Job Knowledge, Abilities, & Skills: 

• Competent and capable to function in an individual and a team setting

• Ability to manage conflict and to deal with people and problems

• Ability to work under pressure

• Must be flexible with working hours 

• Ability to work with little or no supervision

• Attention to details

• Computer literate (applications)

• Good hotel and hotel product knowledge and ability to promote the hotel generally
