Job Title: Project Manager

Background and purpose of the vacancy:
We are seeking a highly qualified Project Manager with expertise in public health and project management to lead our team in a project focused on reducing childhood mortality due to pneumonia in low-resource settings. The project aims to optimize hospital-based treatments for severe pneumonia through the implementation of bubble Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (OPT-bCPAP) , identifying factors associated with mortality and review of antibiotic practice and prescribing guidelines. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project implementation, including planning, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation, to ensure the successful achievement of project goals.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Implementation:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, work breakdown structures, and timelines in collaboration with project stakeholders.
- Coordinate project activities and resources to ensure timely and efficient implementation of project activities.
- Coordinate activities with international partners
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain effective relationships with local and international project partners, government agencies, donors, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate regular communication and coordination meetings to ensure alignment of project objectives and activities.
- Engage key stakeholders in decision-making processes and solicit their input to inform project strategies and approaches.
- Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track project outputs, outcomes, and impact indicators.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to assess project performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular progress reports and presentations for project stakeholders, including donors and government officials.
- Capacity Building:
- Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to project staff, partners, and stakeholders.
- Conduct trainings and workshops on project-related topics to enhance knowledge and skills among project teams.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure adherence to project quality standards and best practices in project implementation.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor compliance with project protocols and guidelines.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to address any deviations or non-compliance issues.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Public Health or related field.
- Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) preferred.
- Minimum of 6years of experience out of which 4 years project management and coordination, with a focus on public health or healthcare programs.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects in low-resource settings.
- Strong understanding of health systems, infectious diseases, and child health issues, particularly pneumonia.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work under stress and in a team
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working with international donors and familiarity with regulations and compliance requirements of donors from the EU.
Employment Type: Contract basis with performance-based renewal every six months.
Salary: As per the project scale, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
