BBC Media Action has been active in Ethiopia since 2001, as a registered organization with the Agency for Civil Society Organizations (ACSO). Our 5-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ethiopia Media Authority (EMA) allows us to work with local media on health and development issues across the country. We have a multi-disciplinary, gender-balanced team of national and international staff and in-house production infrastructure to provide end-to-end multimedia support as a communication partner. We have worked with numerous bilateral and multilaterals donors globally such as FCDO, UNICEF, UNHCR, Global Affairs Canada, EU, and others.
Job purpose:
BBC Media Action Ethiopia is looking for a Team Leader for a project titled Design and delivery of Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) and Peacebuilding Awareness Messaging (PBAM) in post-conflict recovery contexts in Northern Ethiopia (Afar, Amhara, and Tigray Regions).
Main duties and responsibilities:
As the Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in leading Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) facilitators, ensuring the successful deployment and quality of EORE/Peacebuilding Messaging Awareness (PBAM) sessions. Your responsibilities will also include the organization of EORE sessions in alignment with the implementation plan and coordinating and reporting to the Project Manager. Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing the proper implementation of data collection processes. Key duties:

The role may involve working with groups of vulnerable children and adults. For the successful candidate, mandatory training will be provided on BBC Media Actionâs safeguarding policy and staff code of conduct. A DBS or other appropriate background check (depending on the country of residence) will form part of the recruitment process. BBC Media Action operates a zero-tolerance policy concerning all forms of abuse and exploitation of vulnerable people.

Salary: As per the organization scale
Duration: 6 months (100%)
Qualifications:
Special requirements: Fluent in English, Afari and Tigrigna with ability to write reports and scripts in these languages.
