Project HOPE is an international NGO of more than 500 engaged employees and hundreds of volunteers who work in more than 25 countries, responding to the worlds most pressing global health challenges. Project HOPE seeks an experienced consultant for a short term who can develop KMC plus blended learning material for health care professionals under its USAID funded Quality Healthcare Activity (QHA).

REPORTS TO: Emergency and Critical Care Advisor (PH) and Innovation coordinator (QHA)

DUTY STATION: Addis Ababa

PROGRAM: USAID Quality Health Activity (QHA)

CONTRACT TERM (DURATION): 04 months 

ACTIVITY BACKGROUND

USAID Quality Healthcare Activity (QHA) aims at improving health outcomes through improved readiness of health facilities to deliver quality reproductive, maternal, new born, child, and adolescent health (RMNCAH) services, increased management and accountability for quality service delivery, and restoration of services in health facilities in conflict-affected areas. QHA's strategies and implementation approaches will help Ethiopia's government build responsive, resilient, and sustainable public and private healthcare systems. QHA will cover urban and peri-urban primary health care units (PHCU) and referral health facilities in selected regions and woredas. The Activity, through funding support from USAID, is led by prime partner JSI and the sub partners are Project HOPE, Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), MSI Reproductive Choices (MSI RC), and Network of Ethiopian Women's Associations (NEWA) and will be implemented for the next five years from May 01, 2023 - April 30, 2028.

DUTIES AND RESPONSILBILITIES:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The consultant will be responsible to design and develop blended module on Kangaroo Mother Care Plus (KMC +) using following online instructional skill methodologies and up-to-date technologies. The consultant will be responsible for producing a blended learning course that includes both online and in-person elements, ensuring compatibility and in line with MOH's existing platforms, standards and guidelines for CPD courses

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct content analysis of the national KMC plus training package and KMC reference manual.
• Design and develop scripts, storyboards, and Alpha/Beta versions of the modules.
• Organize stakeholder review sessions and incorporate their feedback.
• Conduct testing sessions and incorporate feedback, at list 3 times with MoH
• Pilot the blended course and make necessary adjustments based on feedback at different set up/context.
• Finalize the full blended Learning course, including all modules and an introductory video. 
• Support MOH with course upload in the platform and setup of online collaboration spaces.
• Prepare and submit progress reports for each phase and a final report

• Advanced degree in Education, Information Technology, Public Health, or related fields with a specialization or experienced in Digital Learning or Educational Technology.
• 6-8 years of experience in eLearning and blended materials development and instructional design.
• Proven experience with gamification, multimedia development, graphic and visual design, and web design.
• Proficiency in eLearning development software, preferably Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline with demonstrated experience.
• Understanding of adult learning principles and online instructional design models.
• Experience in the healthcare field, particularly in RMNCAH, is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Ethiopia’s public health system structure and policies is an advantage.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce coherent and consistent documents and reports
