We are looking for aTechnicalAdvisor Social and Behavior Change (SBC) who is principally responsible for the adaptation of SBC strategy, approaches tools, and materials for MBAWISH (Market based area wide inclusive sanitation and Hygiene program). S/He provides technical assistance for stakeholders (MoH) and coordinates SBC activities. S/He oversees the scale up and adaptation of successful demand creation approach in the community health program, and the linkage of private promotional activities with SBC activities

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee adoption of resulted oriented WASH SBC strategy and and support in development of SBC tools and approach for MBAWISH (Market Based Area Wide Inclusive Sanitation and Hygiene) Program that can be scaled through the community health program
Develop/adapt inclusive SBC training manual and identifies training materials and adopt to be utilized for WASH demand creation purposes.
Design and manage SBC capacity building activities, follows up activities in the project areas and ensures full participation of stakeholders in planning SBCC activities in regions, zones, woredas and kebeles where the project operates.
Develop and put in place a routine performance monitoring and support system that enables flow of report and data for decision making and capacity building support on demand creation and SBC.
Document best practice and carry out potential research and gather important and new developments in collaboration with research team.
Develop/adopt and implement a strategy to link SBC and Promotion activities to increase effectiveness of demand activation.
Foster partnerships with stakeholders for adoption capacity building and institutionalization of tested SBCC approaches
Support advocacy effort for inclusion of demand creation and activation methods avail learning and evidence on SBC practice and experience.
Contribute to the development of metrics and establishment of a monitoring and evaluation framework for tracking project progress, specifically tracking SBC related activities.
Engage with relevant government/local partners and to effectively foster SBC activities
Review and analyze monitoring level data to improve management and decision-making and to adapt and optimize SBC initiatives under implementation.
Provide regular, concise reporting on program activities, including documents and sharing key learning on the potential to scale.
Generic Duties of the Position:
Develop and implement annual objectives and plans.
Monitor and ensure the proper utilization of allocated departmental budget.
Support the development of team members through coaching, mentoring, and on-going feedback.
Represent the Organization in external relationships related to the Department.
Participate in group decision making processes by forming part of different groups/committees.
What are we looking for? The basics
Bachelorâs Degree or above in Health Communication/Promotion, Social Work/Development studies, Sociology and/or Public Health or related fields.
Minimum of five years of experience in managing SBC activities of health/ WASH projects. Experience in practical fieldwork and prior supervisory position will be an advantage.
Strong writing and communication skills both in Amharic and English are a necessity and knowledge of other local languages will be an added advantage.
Must demonstrate mastery of computer skills in word processing, Excel for budget and spread sheet work and excellent presentation skills. Skills in data processing will be an advantage.
Must demonstrate strong interest and commitment to WASH and specifically for Market based sanitation
Ability to work with minimum supervision, skills to promote teamwork and effort is essential. Experience in practical fieldwork and prior supervisory position will be an advantage.
Ability and willingness to travel to project activity regions and woredas as per need is required
