Position Summary and Purpose
International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) is looking to recruit an Accountant with finance, logistics and administration responsibilities for an EHF funded project to handle logistics related activities of the project area (purchasing), administering the finance and maintaining proper records of related financial transactions in accordance with the donor guidelines and IOCC Field Operating and Administrative Manual (FOAM).
Country Overview: International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) was established in 1992 as the official humanitarian organization in North America. IOCC’s global operations are managed from its headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland with field offices in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and East Africa. IOCC began its work in Ethiopia in 2003, partnering closely with the Ethiopian Orthodox Church Development and Inter-church Aid Commission (EOC-DICAC). In its 20 years operating in Ethiopia, IOCC has worked in cooperation with EOC-DICAC, international and local NGOs, and various ministries, including the ministries of Health, Education, and Agriculture, and provided humanitarian and development assistance to communities throughout the country.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Financial Services-Processing of Payment Requests
Financial Recording/Posting
Financial Analysis and Follow up
Logistics and Administrative Support
Others
Reports to: Finance and Administrative Manager (FAM)
Salary Grade: Junior to Mid Level
Qualification
Minimally Required Education, Experience, and Training:
Minimally Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Software Applications: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, database and internet applications, including word and excel.
Self-Management and Teamwork: Ability to work independently or as a member of the team, ability to be detailed-oriented and consistently accurate, ability to manage stress effectively in a fast-paced environment, and ability to quickly learn new systems, processes and procedures.
Physical Requirements and Working Environment:
Travel required: 20% or less.
Standard office environment; mostly sedentary position.
Frequently works in an office environment and sits at a desk for extended periods of time and requires dexterity to operate general office equipment.
Infrequent weekend and evening work may be required
