The Consortium of Christian Relief & Development Association (CCRDA) is looking for a highly motivated professional to fill the following post.
Job Summary
CCRDA is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our organization as a Project Accountant, who is in charge of all accounting tasks related to the project. The incumbent assesses capacity and internal setup of member organizations to utilize granted funds mainly from donors. Conducts monitoring and evaluation against project funds, develops or improve monitoring and evaluation tools. The incumbent is responsible for analyzing past expenditure rates, current and projected pipelines, and future burn rates to ensure that adequate funding is always maintained and that accurate accruals are prepared.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Be responsible for the day to day recording of financial transactions of the project.
Reviews payment requests for accuracy, completeness, compliance, level of authorization and clarity on the invoices.
Reviews disbursement requests for accuracy, documentation and validity; effect payment to the right vendor from the project.
Reviews accounts on a regular basis to ensure the balances are complete and accurate.
Accountable for monitoring the progress of projects, looking into variances, approving outgoing inclusive of expenses, and ensuring that project billings are issued to clients and payments collected.
providing advice regarding Budget spending forecasts.
Recording of financial transactions into the CCRDA financial recording, meeting all submission dates, and reporting requirements as required by the project
Assures accuracy of supporting documentation for accounting records.
Organizes and maintains accounting filling system.
S/he reviews and provides clearance on the full range of funding documents and monitors and controls funds usage to ensure that budgets are not exceeded.
Preparing actual costs, working capital, and tax reports.
Collects credit and debit bank advises bank statements and makes bank reconciliation.
Initiates payment for employee income tax, rent income tax, deposit of provident fund, loan repayment, etc.
Prepares adjusting entries.
Enters data every day into the accounting software and produces monthly trial balance and other financial statements.
Maintains complete records of monthly payroll information.
Ensures that all financial transactions are compliant with existing laws, donor regulations and internal policies.
Maintains proper filing system for financial documents.
Follows up and ensures that travel and work advances are settled on time.
Assist in the coordination of year end audit.
Participates in inventory taking as and when required.
Performs other related tasks as assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
Report to: Director, Financial Management Team
Terms of Employment: till the project period
Place of work: Addis Ababa with frequent travel indifferent parts of the country
Salary: As per CCRDA scale with benefit packages

NGO experience and knowledge of Accounting Software packages is an advantage.
