Job Summary 

• Manager, IFB Risk and Compliance Management responsible for assessing the effectiveness of IFB risk management processes and establishing appropriate policies and procedures to assess the bank's IFB operations for Shariah rules and principles compliance. The job holder will guide and lead the implementation of a risk management framework related to IFB principles in the Bank.

Academic & Professional Qualification 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Economics, Law, Accounting, Finance, or Banking from a reputable University.

• Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related business field from a recognized institution is an added advantage.

• Professional certification in Risk Management; Financial Risk Management (FRM), RCP Level 3, Chartered Risk Analyst (CRA) or Governance Risk and Compliance Management (GRCM) are added advantages.

Experience

• Minimum of Eight (8) years relevant experience out of which two (2) years at middle or line management post.

• Effective stakeholder management.

Required Technical Competency 

• A distinguished professional history demonstrating an in-depth understanding of Interest Free(Islamic) banking operation, IFB Deposit and Investment/Financing products and working knowledge Shari’ah principles pertaining to IFB.                                               

• Sound understanding of relevant Shari’ah requirements applicable to Islamic financial business

• Clear understanding of economics, emerging technologies, bank risks and relevant emerging issues in risk management.

• Knowledge of policies, regulations and directives related to Financial Sectors

• Risk management skills including risk assessment, evaluation, quantification, mitigation and reporting skills.   

• Sound knowledge of IFB mode of finance/investments and associated risks.

• Proactive in identifying compliance issues and developing appropriate recommendations               

• Consistent follow through in ensuring corrective or mitigation actions are put in place.           

• Networking skills to effectively leverage on relationships that will enhance customer acquisition and retention.

• Extensive banking background, including understanding credit, risk management, and compliance requirements.

• Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior level leaders regarding key business priorities, issues and initiatives.
