We are looking for a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Technical Advisor, Policy Implementation who will provide technical support to Marketing for Sanitation project to ensure that policies, regulations, and laws related to sanitation are gender-sensitive and socially inclusive. The GESI Technical Advisor, Policy Implementation will work closely with project teams, government agencies, local authorities, and other stakeholders to develop and implement policies that promote gender equality and social inclusion in the sanitation sector. Moreover, The Advisor will work closely with project stakeholders more specifically the regional GESI advisor to ensure that GESI principles are effectively incorporated into the promotion and implementation of sanitation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Policy Analysis: Support policy analysis to identify gaps, challenges, and opportunities for improving gender equality and social inclusion in sanitation policies, regulations, and laws.
Policy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute/advocate for implementation of policies, regulations, and laws that promote gender equality and social inclusion in the sanitation and hygiene sector.
GESI Policy implementation - embedding Gender in all issues of policy implementation/work closely with Universities/training centers to include more Women in the profession by including gender piece in the curriculum/ Training centers(capacity building trainings and workshops to customize it with gender lense/Setting target to reach more women.
Conduct market research and gender-sensitive analysis to identify target audiences and their specific needs and preferences.
Develop and implement innovative marketing strategies that promote gender equality and social inclusion in sanitation projects.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with government agencies, local authorities, and other stakeholders to identify their needs and concerns regarding gender equality and social inclusion in sanitation policies.
Capacity Building: Provide training and technical assistance for project staff government agencies, local authorities, and other stakeholders on development, implementation, and monitoring of gender-sensitive policies, regulations, and laws related to sanitation.
Provide training and capacity-building support to project staff and partners on integrating GESI considerations into marketing initiatives.
Integration and Coordination: Coordinate with other teams, including communication, program, and operations teams, to ensure that gender equality and social inclusion are integrated into all aspects of the project.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the implementation of policies, regulations, and laws related to gender equality and social inclusion in the sanitation sector, providing recommendations for improvement.
Monitor the impact of marketing efforts on different gender and social groups and make recommendations for improvement.
Learning: Document lessons learned and best practices in GESI integration. Create and maintain proper conditions for learning. Establish a safe environment for sharing of ideas, solutions, and difficulties and the capacity to detect, analyze and respond quickly to deficiencies.
Build partnerships with local organizations and community groups to amplify the reach and inclusivity of marketing activities.
Advocate for policy changes that promote gender equality and social inclusion in the sanitation sector, working closely with government agencies, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
Represent the project in relevant forums and events to showcase best practices in gender-responsive and socially inclusive marketing for sanitation.
Promote, uphold, and model a commitment to the efficient use of agency and donor resources. Help ensure compliance with USAID rules and regulations, including financial tracking and oversight of partner budgets.
Support implementation of the Country Program/office gender strategy and safeguarding and protection strategies/action plans.
Networking: Foster partnerships with other USAID implementing partners, national government networks, and stakeholders working on gender, youth, and social inclusion.
Background
Qualification and Experience:
Master's degree or BA degree in a relevant field (e.g., law, public policy, international development, gender studies and marketing).
At least 6 years of experience for masterâs degree or 8 yearsâ experience for BA degree in developing and implementing marketing strategies for sanitation projects, with a focus on gender equality and social inclusion.
Familiarity with policy or regulatory frameworks related to sanitation.
Proven track record of developing and implementing effective policies promoting gender equality and social inclusion.
Proven track record of designing and executing successful marketing campaigns targeted at diverse gender and social groups.
Strong understanding of gender analysis and social inclusion principles.
Solid understanding of GESI concepts and tools, particularly in the context of marketing and behavior change communication.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to work effectively with government agencies, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
Fluency in English language
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong strategic, analytical, systems thinking, and problem-solving skills, with capacity to see the big picture and ability to make sound judgment and decisions.
Strong relations management abilities. Ability to relate to people at all levels internally and externally. Strategic in how you approach each relationship.
Good technical writing skills, presentation, facilitation, training, mentoring, and coaching skills
Abilities with diverse/multi-disciplinary teams.
