Job Purpose: Under the supervision of FFHPCTS Coordinator, the purpose of this position includes:

OVC SERV. Specialist is responsible to Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC) services by customizing community and facility service strategies that are applicable to PEPFAR/USAID community family-focused HIV prevention, care and treatment services. He/she will be under the supervision of OVC specialist and should work in collaboration with different government and private health facilities, PLHIV associations, community-based associations and like-minded partners in order to boost up the all-project services within the catchment area.

Main duties & Responsibilities: Plan, coordinate, implements and Monitors services for Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC).

  • Plans, organizes, facilitates/conducts sensitization program related to OVC SERV. Activities to CCC and other stakeholders

  • Enroll program beneficiaries based on the planned priorities and sub populations 

  • Conduct Necessary assessments that are mandatory by the program to deliver different kinds of services to the clients. i.e. Household Need and strengthening assessment, HIV Risk Assessment, Case plan etc.

  • Follow up and Monitor needs and services delivering to HIV Positive children

  • Follow up and Monitor Clinical cascade services for   HIV positive children

  • Establish Community Operation Triple Zero (COTZ) groups 

  • Provides Follow up services to the OVCs in areas of Health, education and psychological aspects of their lives.

  • Ensure that the OVCs get planned packages of support regularly as per the case management process

  • Visits and follow up OVCs Specially HIV Positive children and ensures they are getting adherence supports

  • Report writing  (Annual, biannual, quarterly and monthly) and also collecting and sharing success stories and best practices

  • Work closely with Health Facilities to Support High Viral Load C/ALHIV in order to support as per their needs

  • Plan, organize, and conduct trainings and to build capacity of social service works and Community Service volunteers

  • Assist the development of OVC, regularly track project progress, and facilitate impact evaluation in terms of the projectā€™s contribution towards achieving wider objectives and goals and program coordinator.

  • Compile a quarterly monitoring and evaluation report and submit it to his/her supervisor.

  • Provide training on documentation and adequate assistance for staff and other relevant stakeholders 

  • Regularly monitor CCC to mobilize resources and support clients

  • Sign MOUs with key stakeholders and implement activities with stakeholders based on the agreement 

  • Facilitates compilation of regular monitoring reports prepared by different projects along with evaluation recommendations.

  • Make sure all delivered services to the clients are entered to compare

  • Support, respect, and uphold BPDO relationships with health facilities as well as the local government structures. 

  • Ensure compliance with BPDO policies and regulations as well as those of the PEPFAR/USAID. 

  • In addition to the above-listed duties and responsibilities, he/she shall perform other appropriate activities assigned by the organization and supervisors.

Qualification &Experience

  • Masterā€™s degree in public health (MPH) or BSc degree in related fields.
  • BA/MA degree in Statistics, Health, Economics, or other related Social Sciences with a minimum of 6/4 years of progressively project monitoring and evaluation experience in similar settings for BA/MA respectively; at least 2 of which need to be on PEPFAR/ USAID funded programs for HIV/AIDS, preferably in an NGO setting.

  • Excellent basic computer skills and demonstrated experience in using software, particularly DATIM, CommCare, UDS, DHIS2 etc. 

  • Significant experience in data and information management, and analysis and excellent conceptual, presentation, and communication skills with experience working with nongovernment organizations in Ethiopia.

  • Able to work within a very innovative and dynamic type of program. - Computer and data management skills using different statistical software.

  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis methodologies required.

  • Experience of working with different partners & govā€™t systems
