ChipChip is seeking an experienced Farm Sourcing and Farm Product Manager to join our team. Your responsibilities will revolve around efficiently acquiring and managing vendor information and products, particularly focusing on farm products. Here's a detailed breakdown of your tasks:
Responsibilities
Product Sourcing: Identify and source a wide range of agricultural products, such as fruits and vegetables, from local farms or suppliers.
Monitoring: Monitor the products' sourcing, delivery, and orders from the app.
Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality, freshness, and safety of the products being sourced and supplied to customers.
Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with local farmers, growers, and producers to establish a reliable network of suppliers.
Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with suppliers to secure competitive rates and favorable conditions.
Collaboration: Collaborate with farmers and producers to understand their offerings, production schedules, and seasonal crop or livestock availability.
Product Selection: Select and procure a diverse range of high-quality products to meet the demands and preferences of customers.
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and track the movement of products in and out of the warehouse.
Stock Monitoring: Monitor stock levels, manage replenishment orders, and minimize waste or spoilage of perishable goods.
Inspections: Conduct quality inspections and checks on incoming products to ensure they meet the required standards for freshness, appearance, and safety.
Data Collection: Collect essential data from vendors, including pricing information, product details, and minimum order requirements.
Vendor Contact: Initiate contact with vendors via phone to connect with managers or marketing representatives.
Meetings: Arrange meetings to ensure clear communication and gather necessary information in person.
Reporting: Compile and provide a comprehensive price list along with all the gathered details to the project manager.
Vendor Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding process for vendors after a thorough board review.
Farm Identification: Identify local farms and farmers suitable for collaboration.
Initial Contact: Establish initial contact with farmers, explaining ChipChip requirements and quality standards.
Coordination: Coordinate pricing, quantities, and delivery schedules with farmers.
Farm Visits: Regularly visit farms to inspect produce quality and ensure adherence to ChipChip Social standards.
Guidelines: Provide guidelines to farmers regarding best practices for cultivation and harvesting.
Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with the logistics team to arrange transportation from farms to the warehouse.
Transportation Monitoring: Monitor the transportation process to ensure timely and safe delivery of produce.
Issue Resolution: Maintain strong relationships with farmers, addressing any concerns promptly.
Liaison: Act as a liaison between ChipChip and farmers, facilitating smooth communication.
Record Keeping: Keep detailed records of sourcing transactions, including quantities, prices, and farmer information.
Management Reporting: Provide regular reports to the management team regarding farm sourcing activities.
Additional Tasks: Additional tasks may be added as needed.
Qualification:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in agricultural sourcing or a related field is preferred.
Skills:
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build rapport with farmers.
Knowledge of agricultural practices and produce quality standards.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
Basic understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices.
