Handicrafts Quality and Standards Team Leader – Recruited by The Talent Firm

On behalf of Ethiopian Tourist Trading Enterprise (ETTE), The Talent Firm is recruiting for the position of Handicrafts Quality and Standards Team Leader. The client is Ethiopian Tourist Trading Enterprise (ETTE).

Ethiopian Tourist Trading Enterprise is become a public enterprise which engaged in duty free service and selling the same product which found in the duty free by taking Taxes and avail the product for local customers. At these days, ETTE is one of the major profitable public enterprises in the country with respect to duty free service. ETTE also plan to expand the overall business thorough turnkey project in which converting the production center in to centre of Excellence as well as planning to build duty free complex around Addis Ababa Airport.

About the Role

The Handicrafts Quality and Standards Team Leader will oversee the quality control and standards of all handicraft products. This role involves preparing detailed production and procedural manuals, managing quality assurance processes, improving manpower efficiency, increasing productivity, controlling processing times, managing raw materials, and developing production templates. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement procedural manuals that detail step-by-step instructions for each stage of the production process.
• Ensure that all team members are trained on and adhere to these procedures.
• Establish and monitor quality control standards for all handicraft products.
• Conduct regular quality inspections and audits to ensure products meet company standards.
• Implement corrective actions when quality standards are not met.
• Analyze current workflows and identify areas for improvement in manpower utilization
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the production team.
• Provide ongoing training and support to team members to optimize performance.
• Set productivity targets and work with the production team to achieve these goals 
• Monitor production processes and implement improvements to increase overall productivity.
• Track and manage processing times for all stages of production.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to reduce processing times and improve overall efficiency
• Oversee the sourcing, inventory, and quality control of raw materials used in production.
• Ensure that raw materials meet quality standards and are used efficiently.
• Develop production templates that standardize processes and ensure consistency in product quality.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in handicraft production.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve production processes, quality standards, and team efficiency.

Work Location; Addis Ababa, Ayat

Requirements and Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field

• Experience: 5 years Proven experience in a similar role within the handicrafts or manufacturing industry

• Language:  Excellent command of both Amharic and English languages and literacy in computer usage

•  Working Conditions: Ability to work in a production environment, which may include exposure to noise and physical activity
