Research project manager

About the role:

The position is for a full-time Research project manager based in Addis Ababa. The successful candidate will engage with the monitoring and evaluation, coordination, liaison with partners, policy- and decision-makers and informing policymaking processes.

The candidate will report to the Knowledge Translation directorate director at the Ethiopian Public Health Institute.

1. Implement stakeholder engagement activities, including policy dialogues and citizen panels, and any other as might be determined.

   1. Conduct monitoring and evaluation activities, under the direction of project lead.

   2. Support evidence syntheses, policy analyses, and research. 

   3. Contribute and participate in capacity-building activities internally and externally, as part of the project activities.

   4. Implementing the project research agenda under the guidance of project lead.

   5. Disseminating results from the project, under the guidance of research scientists.

   6. Perform other duties as may be assigned by senior researchers and /or the directors.

Candidate requirements:

• Must hold a minimum of a master’s degree in public health and related discipline, project management with health background, or health monitoring and evaluation.
• Must have minimum of twelve years working experience with master’s degree or minimum of ten years working experience with a PhD.
• Must have research publication
• Good knowledge in research, research methods, and analysis
• Experience working in research settings or research project management is an added advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to compile and synthesize data and findings into polished comprehensive final reports.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including flexibility.
• Comfortable with high-profile liaisons.
