About the role
The Producer Director is the editorial and creative lead of our country office, supporting the production team and our media partners to design and produce engaging, high quality multimedia content across platforms and themes. The role takes overall responsibility for the quality and effective delivery of all our communication and training outputs. It is an exciting position and a key player on the team, working closely with the country director, project, research, advisory, finance and other teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects. The Producer Director also contributes significantly to securing new donor-funded projects by conceptualizing fresh ideas, costing activities and making inputs to budgets and proposals. As head of the production department, they will also be responsible for recruiting, training, mentoring and inspiring team members.

Who weâre looking for
Weâre looking for a strong team player with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to inspire creativity and lead production as well as training of our media partners. To be our Producer Director, you will have competencies in creative leadership, editorial judgement and decision-making, effective communication, managing relationships, analytical thinking and strategic thinking, planning and organizing, flexibility and resilience, among others. The work we do depends on partnerships with local media partners. Therefore, youâll have a good understanding of the Ethiopian media landscape, development challenges, and a proven track record and experience in media partners. You will also have a knack for generating creative ideas and turning dry topics into engaging media content. The ideal candidate is also expected to have a minimum of three to five years senior project management experience with university education in a relevant field of study.
