Bid announcement for CAFE2 Project endline survey

Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung (HRNS) is a non-profit foundation, the headquartered based in Hamburg, Germany. The core objective of HRNS is the economic and social development of farming families and communities by strengthening their competitiveness, building modern farmer organizations, creating market linkages and access to support services, more over our major goal is to improve the livelihood of small holder coffee farmers. HRNS supports gender equality and youth development to unleash their potential as productive members of society and agents of transformation.

HRNS is seeking for a consultant/team of consultants (hereinafter: contractor) to conduct endline evaluation survey and on preparing the result document for the current CAFE2 project which are implemented in Amahara region Ethiopia and which was planned to provide support for 2500 small holder coffee farmers. The evaluation will be undertaken in the woreda of Ayehu Guagusa, Bahir Dar City, Bahir Dar Zuria, Burie Town, Burie Zuria, Dembecha and Jabi Tehinan. Field visits will be conducted as part of this evaluation. The field visits also, will take place in the Woredas where cooperatives are located:

Criteria 

• Relevant academic degree (master level) e.g. in agriculture, rural development or business administration 
• Team leader has a minimum of seven years’/7 experience and expertise in the field/sector of rural development and agriculture. 
• Team leader has conducted at least three evaluations in the function of a team leader in a relevant field.
• The team leader and team member both have solid experience in planning and conducting qualitative data collection and analysis (semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions).
• Team member has participated in at least two evaluations ideally in a relevant field.
• The evaluation team shall ideally consist of male and female members since we strongly support leaders of qualitative interviews or focus group discussions with female-headed households to also be female. 
• Knowledge of Ethiopian coffee producing regions with focus on topics such as rural development and agriculture, farmer livelihoods, value chain development, cooperatives 
• Proven experience in qualitative data collection and analysis and participatory approaches. 
• Experience in project cycle management 
• Experience and expertise in cross-cutting issues and principles (such as gender equity and environmental sustainability) 
• Excellent oral and written English skills and knowledge of Amharic (either through a national expert or a translator) 
• Sound MS Office and IT skills 
• The consultant must have renewed legal  business license and  VAT registered as well have TIN number.
