The Opportunity

The main purpose of the job is to implement ā€œPromote access to primary education and protection assistance for conflict-affected populations in Benishangul Gumuz Region Tsore, Metekel, Ura, Kurmuk and other location based on the project geographical scope change with emergency WASH, Health and nutrition, Education in Emergency, and child protection in emergency in response to the Sudan crisis and Metekel conflictā€ Project funded by ECHO.

The overall objective of this integrated project is to addresses the life-saving needs of crisis-affected populations through integrated interventions.

The position holder will be responsible for all operational aspects of the humanitarian intervention and ensuring the quality and effectiveness of Planā€™s emergency response within his/her designated geographical area mainly related to three core areas: Emergency nutrition, Emergency Child Protection, Emergency Education and Emergency WASH related projects including handling manpower and budgetary aspects of the projects.

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

  • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan Internationalā€™s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

  • Ensures that all staff signed safeguarding policies;

  • Implement Plan Internationalā€™s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.

  • MSc/MA/BA degree in Sociology, Social work, community development, social science, development studies and humanitarian Studies, Education, nutrition, Food Security, Social studies, Public Health Rural Development, Agriculture, Economics, Development studies

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience out of which 3 years on a senior level experience or demonstrated equivalent combination.

  • Good managerial experience, including managing budgets
