Head of Finance

Job Summary:

The Head of Finance for the Garde Dairy will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including financial planning, analysis, and reporting. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of the dairy processing industry's financial aspects. The ideal candidate will ensure the financial health and sustainability of the business, supporting growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Strategy and Planning:

• Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's overall objectives.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, including long-term financial planning and forecasting.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team for strategic decision-making.

2. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Conduct thorough financial analysis, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.

3. Budget Management:

• Monitor and manage the company’s financial performance against the budget.
• Develop and implement effective budget control processes.
• Identify and address financial risks and opportunities.

4. Operational Finance:

• Supervise day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and systems.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls.

5. Cost Management:

• Analyze cost structures and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with other departments to optimize operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor and manage the dairy processing business’s capital expenditures and working capital.

6. Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Ensure the finance team has the necessary skills and resources to support the company’s financial objectives.
• Promote teamwork and collaboration within the finance department and across the organization.

7. Stakeholder Management:

• Communicate financial performance and strategy to internal and external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial institutions.
• Represent the company in financial negotiations and contract discussions.

Additional Information:
Work Environment: This position typically operates in a professional office environment. Occasional travel to dairy production sites and milk collection centers may be required.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred.
• Professional Certification: CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive financial experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the dairy processing or related industry.

• Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
