Finance Assistant

Job Overview:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our dynamic finance team at Garden Dairy. The Finance Assistant will support various financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions and records. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Record Keeping:
   • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payments.
   • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
2. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
   • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
   • Reconcile bank statements and monitor company expenditures.
3. Transaction Management:
   • Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions using point of sale (POS) systems.
   • Process sales transactions accurately and promptly.
   • Issue receipts, refunds, changes, or tickets.
   • Collect money from cash sales and ensure accuracy in cash handling.
4. Customer Service:
   • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases.
   • Answer customer queries regarding products, prices, and promotions.
   • Ensure a pleasant and efficient customer experience at the checkout counter.
5. Inventory and Stock:
   • Assist in stocking shelves and maintaining inventory levels.
   • Inform management of low stock levels and replenish inventory as needed.
6. Cash Handling:
   • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure the amounts are correct and there is adequate change.
   • Balance cash receipts and log transactions in appropriate records.
   • Collect money from the cash sell 
7. Payroll Support:
   • Assist in payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payment of employee salaries.
   • Handle employee expense claims and reimbursements.
8. Compliance and Audits:
   • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
   • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
9. Data Entry and Analysis:
   • Enter financial data into accounting software and maintain financial databases.
   • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Experience:

• Proven experience as a Finance Assistant or similar role for one year.
• Experience in the dairy or food processing industry is a plus.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
