DEC is a local CSO established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 as per the new Authority for CSO Proclamation by the Ethiopian government bearing a registration number of 0009. The organization has five major programs; Child Well-being and Education Development Program, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development Program, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Program. DEC actively works in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration.  DEC would like to recruit for the following positions:

Provide technical guidance; ensure that gender perspectives are meaningfully incorporated into program design, implementation, and monitoring. Represent DEC on   gender and inclusion-related concerns in the program; Advocate for gender equality and inclusion within program implementation.

   Job Summary 

Lead, facilitate, and assist various initiatives, including training,  manual development, and stakeholder engagement; train and lead community members in responding to EIE;  prepare volunteers/facilitators, develop response plans, and review necessary equipment; ensure EIE education standards, ensure Child and community participation  and help effective implementation

Specific Job Description

• Provide managerial support and technical assistance to Woreda Coordinators and Program Assistant

• Jointly with Woreda Coordinators, produce monthly and quarterly reports and submit them to the Country Project Manager.   

• Provide technical assistance to integrate adolescent-related activities and services at the zonal level.

• Support multi-stakeholder program review meetings.

• Work with zonal and woreda offices to secure the necessary support for the implementation of project activities.

• Strengthen networks and partnerships in the zone and attend relevant government and partner meetings to further develop collaboration among different stakeholders

• Engage in supportive supervision and follow-up visits to project sites to identify gaps and propose solutions.

• Oversee the smooth and effective functioning of project activities related to monitoring and evaluation, and documentation.

• Undertakes other tasks assigned by her / his supervisor

Additional Skill 

• Fluent in English languages, Writing, and speaking skills in additional local languages are a plus ;

• Good communication skills in teamwork team mobilizations and partnership management;

• Experience in facilitating assessments, best practice capturing, and working with communities

• Ability to conduct training and track progress;

• Innovative, enthusiastic, and a strong team player ;

• Good report writing, use of technology application skills ;

• Advanced PC skills, particularly knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel as well as other financial software packages.

Qualification and Experiance

• BED/BA/MA degree in Education/ EDPM
• 4 Year  MA/ 5 Year  BA
