DEC is a local CSO established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 as per the new Authority for CSO Proclamation by the Ethiopian government bearing a registration number of 0009. The organization has five major programs; Child Well-being and Education Development Program, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development Program, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Program. DEC actively works in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration. DEC would like to recruit for the following positions:
Provide technical guidance; ensure that gender perspectives are meaningfully incorporated into program design, implementation, and monitoring. Represent DEC on gender and inclusion-related concerns in the program; Advocate for gender equality and inclusion within program implementation.
Specific Job Description
Ensure that gender perspectives are meaningfully incorporated into program design, implementation, and monitoring.
Prepares project work plans and reports and maintains comprehensive project documentation.
Facilitates implementation of project activities including workshops, training, and meetings with stakeholders and targets;
Conducts field visits and supervision of training sessions (soft and technical skill training);
Participate and/ or facilitate the preparation of training modules and other relevant documents;
Works in close collaboration with targets, communities, and stakeholders;
Use and/ or develop innovative tools, strategies, and methodologies for project implementation;
Ensures and supports that program/ project objectives and results are fully achieved and meet expected technical quality standards;
Communicate and cooperate with stakeholders and partners to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
Monitors and tracks project progress, handles any issues that arise, and reports to PD or ED in case of major challenges.
Additional Skill
Fluent in English languages, Writing, and speaking skills in additional local languages are a plus ;
Good communication skills in teamwork team mobilizations and partnership management;
Experience in facilitating assessments, best practice capturing and working with communities
Ability to conduct training and track progress;
Innovative, enthusiastic, and a strong team player ;
Advanced PC skills, particularly knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel as well as other financial software packages.
