Deputy Manager of Information Technology Department

Basic Function

Under the general direction of the department manager, Plans, organizes, directs and controls the provision of MIS services including networking database management, security and system administration to the Company; ensures the smooth operation, maintenance, expansion and development of MIS both technically and institutionally; assumes responsibility for information source development and information resource management

Duties and responsibilities

1. Plans, organizes, directs and controls the provision of MIS services including networking database management, security and system administration to head office and other functional units in order of program priority,

2. Assist the IT manager with the daily running of the department

3. With the IT manager, develop long term solutions to Companys IT Infrastructures and implement the necessary project management processes to deliver them.

4. Coordinates the design, development, implementation and validity and safety of established systems; ensures the consistent application of approved MIS policies and regulations,

5. Determines the configuration required for processing management information system and on the acquiring of such resources,

6. Ensures the smooth operation, maintenance, expansion and development of companys IT

7. Update and maintain IT policy and continuously train company employees to stay aware of its importance.

8. Monitor and identify threats to the cyber security of the company and give proper solutions.

9. Directs the analysis of problems to determine causes of system software malfunctioning and takes corrective action; provides trouble-services to systems administration.

10. Analyzes users requirements by consultation to determine configurations and system administration needs,

11. With the IT manager, Formulates strategies and polices for an integrated MIS required for planning, decision making and control of company operation,

12. Keep abreast of new IT developments, business project and change management

13. Establishes and enforces standard guidelines, as well as security system for database,

14. Initiates improvement on and implements new inclusions to existing MIS,

15. Conducts analysis and /or oversees MIS projects aimed at determining the information requirement of the company.

16. On occasion, provide technical support for major companys events such as presentations in meeting halls etc.

17. Reorganizes the MIS by reassigning areas to different devises, removing dead records and reorganizing flies,

18. Maintains and updates the company computers,

19. Updates the company website whenever necessary,

20. Does graphic and promotional designs with the help of design consultants,

21. Manages the internal origin software,

22. Manages the internal company LAN network.

23. Give all the necessary information about his/her job whenever asked,

24. Ensures that all problems related to food safety management system is reported to immediate supervisor and Quality personnel.

25. Ensure compliance with the relevant requirements of local, national and international laws related to environmental standards and end client's environmental requirements.

26. Ensure reduction targets (environmental objectives) are in place for environmental aspects e.g. water consumption and discharge, waste, energy and greenhouse gas emissions.

27. Determine environmental aspects and impacts and devise methods to prevent or reduce these environmental impacts.

28. Use the 3R + 1R rule (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink) to avoid or minimize discharges to water, emissions to air and disposal to land.

29. Implement, document, maintain and continually improve the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2015).

30. Performs other related duties as required.

BSc degree in Computer Science or any related field of Study and 8 years of professional related work experience.
