LEARN Logistics by Kühne Foundation is a German registered charity established to support universities in African countries in the sustainable development and expansion of teaching and research capacities in logistics and supply chain management. LEARN Logistics pursues the approach of cross-functional logistics systems and promotes other sectors, such as health and agriculture, in addition to the commercial market.
LEARN works in regions where public or private funding and local resources are insufficient to deliver the required LSCM education and to meet international quality standards. Together with local universities, the program offers training opportunities tailored to the specific needs and requirements of the countries. The development of such a high-quality education system is achieved through multilateral partnerships between internationally leading higher education institutions in high-income countries and selected universities in low-income countries in East and partly West Africa.
Job summary
The Logistics Officer manages and delivers an efficient liaising and purchasing service across all LEARN LOGISTICS programs by Kühne Foundation Ethiopia. Under the direct supervision of the Finance and Administration Manager, the Logistics Officer is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and implementing all supply chain needs/requirements of the Ethiopia Office, including procuring all program and office use supplies and services, managing stocks, and managing fleet concerns as per the organization's policy and best practices.
Essential roles and responsibilities
Responsible for taking and bringing documents, changing cheques, and effecting payments related to Office transactions and deals.
Responsible for facilitating hotels, meeting halls, and other facilities required by the organization for training, meetings, or any other services.
Ensure imported items are safely arrived and delivered; this includes customs clearance of imports until delivery of the goods and the official handover of items against signature of receipt with respective staff, team, or partner.
Maintain control of all stock, monitoring storage, requests, and issuance to avoid stockouts and efficiently utilize resources.
Coordinate the appropriate selection, purchase, installation, use, and maintenance of office equipment and materials in the office.
Keep an update on all agreements for regular procurement and maintenance contracts of other assets under logistics.
Assure an uninterrupted supply of all basic supplies at any time.

Salary Level: Negotiable
Terms of employment: contract with possible extensionbased on performance
Place of work: Learn logistics from the Kühne Foundation Ethiopia Office in Addis Ababa, with possible travel to other regions.
Required skills and qualifications:
A minimum of 10+3 or preferably a College Diploma in Management, Purchasing Management, logistics, or a related field.
Good knowledge of Procurement, fleet management, and events management.
Good knowledge of the country's procurement and tax policy
Minimum of Five years of work experience in Logistics management or related work at NGOs
Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and pay attention to detail.
Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
English and Amharic proficiency is essential (both oral and written skills)
