Quality Controller

Addis Eyita is a private company that provides business and investment consulting services, business training and intellectual advice in various fields of work, and import and export firms, and was established in January 2007 based on the Ethiopian Commercial Law.

The firm wishes to recruit a qualified  Quality Controller on behalf of its client.

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Controller to join our team and ensure the consistent production of high-quality paper products. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating all aspects of the manufacturing process, identifying potential issues, and implementing corrective actions to maintain exceptional product quality. 

Detail Roles and Responsibilities

Quality Control Inspections:

Conduct in-process inspections of raw materials, finished goods, and packaging to identify defects and non-conformities. 

Utilize various inspection tools and techniques (e.g., calipers, micrometers, visual inspection) to assess product quality against established standards. 

Document inspection findings and maintain detailed records of defects and corrective actions.  

Quality Assurance:

Develop and maintain quality control procedures and protocols 

Implement and enforce quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.

Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Problem Solving & Corrective Actions:

Investigate and troubleshoot quality issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.

Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues and prevent future occurrences. 

Continuous Improvement:

Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and propose solutions to enhance product quality. 

Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging quality control technologies. 

Participate in internal quality audits and review meetings. 

Documentation & Reporting: 

Prepare and submit accurate quality reports and documentation.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety and hygiene regulations. 

BSc degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., Quality Management, Manufacturing Engineering).

 2+ years of experience in a quality control role within a paper converting or tissue paper  manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of paper converting processes and quality standards.

Proficiency in using various inspection tools and techniques.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience with quality management systems 

Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.

Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
