The Opportunity
The position holder will be responsible to support the implementation of the PIEās strategy through overall management and oversight of safety and security activities for the country operation and providing operational guidance in managing safety and security related risks throughout Plan International Ethiopia (PIE) staff and resources, which includes developing safety and security management plan, conducting safety and security assessments, and developing standard operating procedures, capacity building and training, as well as both introducing and maintaining sound safety and security management structures within the organisation.

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan Internationalās Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan Internationalās safeguarding and GEI policies;
Ensures that Plan Internationalās global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.
Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan Internationalās global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted
Degree in any field of study and at least 7 years relevant experience in safety and Security Management. Out of which 3 years in managerial position preferably in INGOs setup.
Ability to communicate effectively and authoritatively on area of expertise.
Ability to develop effective working relationships across a network
Trained on safety and security management
