SPECIALIZED PUMP TECHNICIAN

COMUNITA VOLONTARI PER IL MONDO (CVM) is an Italy based international NGO re- registered with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Agency for Civil Society Organization as Foreign organization under Certificate number 0941  in accordance with the Civil  Society Organizations Proclamation number 1113/2019  to operate in Ethiopia. CVM is active with various projects in defense of orphaned and vulnerable children, domestic workers and maids, minorities, HIV positive and AIDS patients. Moreover, it works to guarantee the increase in the availability of water for drinking and agricultural purposes and for the increase in sanitation.

I.TOR

• Organize well maintenance activities
• Organize well pumping tests
• Ensure correct sampling collection for qualitative analyses of well water before their maintenance
• Provide maintenance to the hand pumps present in the project area (Afridev, Mark II, etc)
• Ensure proper installation of submersible pumps
• Ensure the correct installation of hand pumps where their complete replacement is necessary
• Coordinate with project masons to ensure effective completion of surface works
• Monitor that the construction of each system is in line with the technical project developed by the engineer
• Ensure qualitative and quantitative control of the materials used
• Ensure the correct management and care of the equipment acquired by the project for activities relating to well maintenance
• Collaborate in the data collection required by the monitoring plan for the area of competence
• Participate in the training of maintenance workers

II.Professional competences:

• 10 years of work experience in water works activities in a rural context
• Competence in pump installation activities of different types, both hand pumps and submersible
• Competence in well pumping tests
• Good team coordination skills
• Driving license and good driving skills (Grade 3 or at least Dry 1, accessory for Public 1 )
